It’s Nice to Be Alive

New York, USA

2021

In this series, I competed to be among the 10 selected and be part of a commission where I had to express in my own way how a city in the United States had changed after two years of pandemic. After many turns and much confusion inside me about how to portray this subject, I realized that my photography is the product of my desire to capture the essence that communicates the reality of our life as visually expressible as possible.

For this assignment, I flew to New York with this purpose, carrying my camera with me to the most common places where people transit daily, to observe ordinary life and its flaws. To portray the daily life of people of all ages, the role played by the city's architecture and its deterioration.

This collection ended up being an exercise about enjoying the view while we are here and not trying to find the meaning of everything. In the end, 15 photographs were selected to be sold as NFTs and became part of the Obscuradao community on Open Sea. :-)
